A wonderful experience - The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The hostess made it a point to greet every guest in their own language, which added a lovely personal touch to the visit. Despite the long queue and a rush of guests, she kept her smile and enthusiasm throughout! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food—definitely better than I expected for a tourist spot! We tried the hearty tomato soup and carrot soup, flatbread with cheese and pesto, signature vanilla cream roll, and eggnog cake, and each dish was delicious. The flavors were fresh and satisfying. We loved this place so much that we visited twice during our stay in Hallstatt! This place deserves a much higher rating than the current 3.4! If you’re in Hallstatt, do yourself a favor and stop by. You won't regret it!

Absolutely delicious food served with superb friendliness! This is a unique self service place, they still care about how you feel about your meal and make sure you are comfortable. We loved everything we had... the pulled pork burger was perfect with such tender pork and that chewy rustic bun, and it is rare that i dont ask for extra for extra hot sauce or mustard for a burger, but this one came just perfectly flavored with just the right spice kick that i so love. We never thought tomato and carrot soup could taste so heavenly, there's something special about it, creamy but light and so flavourful. And the vegetable flammkuchen with that special pesto was so fresh and delicious! If this restaurant were in Vienna where we live right now, I would eat there regularly! Too bad it is so far away in Hallstatt and I'm already missing it. I love good food and a place with a positive vibe. This place has both. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for a happy meal. And to our delight, the price is much more reasonable than the other restaurants around!!

We had a really nice experience! Had to leave a comment here and 5 stars cos everything was great: to begin with the outside welcoming board with such nice sentences, the yummy cakes, and the super friendly and kind waitress. I love the apple cake so much that I even took 3 more portions for take away for my birthday. Only cash accepted but it was clear everywhere. 10 to the cook as well, the lady was also very nice. Would definitely go back next time in Hallstatt.
